The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has allowed candidates from the hill districts of Manipur who have chosen Imphal as their examination center to change it. Candidates can now opt for examination centers in Aizawl, Mizoram; Kohima, Nagaland; Shillong, Meghalaya; Dispur, Assam; Jorhat, Assam; Kolkata, West Bengal; and Delhi. This decision came in response to a petition by the Zomi Students Federation requesting examination centers in Churachandpur and Kangpokpi in Manipur’s hill districts. The Manipur government will support these candidates by providing financial assistance for travel, accommodation, and food during the examination period. Aspirants can request a change of examination center via email between April 8 and 19. Additionally, the UPSC has clarified that due to the Manipur government’s inability to open examination centers in Churachandpur and Kangpokpi, candidates can now choose from the specified alternative centers.

.The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has permitted candidates from the hill districts of Manipur, who selected Imphal as their examination center, to change it to one of seven alternative centers located outside the state for the Civil Services (Preliminary Examination) 2024 and the Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination 2024

.This decision follows a PIL by the Zomi Students Federation requesting exam centers in Churachandpur and Kangpokpi in Manipur’s hill districts to enable tribal candidates to take the exams scheduled for May 26

.Candidates can now choose examination centers in Aizawl, Mizoram; Kohima, Nagaland; Shillong, Meghalaya; Dispur, Assam; Jorhat, Assam; Kolkata, West Bengal; and Delhi as alternatives to Imphal

.The Manipur government will provide financial assistance, including reimbursement of conveyance fare, food, and accommodation support for three days at a maximum of Rs 1000 per day, to facilitate candidates during the examination period.
